£600,000 PUBLIC MONEY SPENT BY
WIRRAL COUNCIL

Late 2016, Wirral Council agreed to spend £600,000 on consultation and survey works related to the proposed Hoylake golf resort that are normally the responsibility of the land purchaser / developer. It chose to do this whilst facing a huge deficit in its funding that could lead to cuts in services

If the resort should fail at any point, this website (there are others) illustrates the risk.

Council Leader Phil Davies admits that this money will be lost.

Wirral Council is gambling with your money.

£600k is being spent, says Council Leader Phil Davies, to give confidence to the Developer, Nicklaus Joint Venture Group (NJVG).

Regarding the developer, read here.

NJVG, despite Jack Nicklaus' remote involvement and maybe becuase of his distance from it, doubts success of the project.
